Due to the Bromley Heath Viaduct, we are redirecting our SGS17 visitors…
Travelling by car…
If you are travelling to this year’s South Glos Show by car, there is a new route for you to follow to ensure you avoid the Bromley Heath Viaduct roadworks on the Ring Road A4174.
We want all of our visitors to have an enjoyable experience when attending our Show and for this reason we have established easier routes for you all to take if you are attending SGS17 by car. The Show takes place at the Westerleigh Showground which is situated just off the Westerleigh Road, between large towns Yate, Chipping Sodbury, Emersons Green and Downend.
With easy access to the M4, M5 and M32, transport to the South Glos Show from the whole of the South West and beyond is possible. If you are using a Sat Nav to get to the Show this year, the postcode you should use is BS37 8QZ, however, please be aware due to the roadworks we will be directing our visitors on an alternative route, so when approaching the Show please follow the AA road signs.
There is a free car park at SGS17 with ample space for plenty of cars, including disabled
Travelling by bus…
Those people wishing to travel to the show by bus may choose to use either Wessex Travel or First Group. The routes that run near to the show site are the 18, 48 and 49 which travel to Emersons Green or the X49 to the Bristol and Bath Science Park. It’s approximately a 15/20 minute walk from the Science Park or a 10 minute cycle ride.
There are bus routes that stop at the Emerson’s Green Sainsbury’s if you need to use a cash facility, however please be aware this is a further walk to the Showground.
We strongly advise checking with the bus operators for the very latest services and timetables.
Cycling to the Show?…
At the South Glos Show we promote a ‘Cycle To’ scheme and try our best to make cycling to the Show a genuine option.
With the Showground conveniently placed upon the Avon Cycleway that connects areas in South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset, it makes sense to get hunting for those helmets doesn’t it? Do your bit for the environment and enjoy the scenic views when cycling to the Show this year.
There will be plenty of places to chain up your bike and the dedicated ‘bike shed’ located in the main car park will be patrolled all weekend by security staff. Also, Dr Bike will be joining us at the bike shed to offer assistance with bike punctures and maintenance, answering any questions you may have and offering general cycling advice!
