We’re not sure where the time is going but somehow we are now at less than 20 days until we open the gates on the South Glos Show 2016. With a bigger than ever Show for our visitors it’s been a busy few months for us in the SGS offices getting everything together to put on the best Show possible.
So what is different in 2016?
It would be a very long news article for us to talk about everything that is different in 2016 however we reckon we can give a good enough summary.
Old McDonald had a farm…
Well it might not be old McDonald’s farm but we certainly have an invasion of animals this year. With the addition of the JD Pipes Sheep Show, there will be some very sheepish characters for you all to see and learn about. Alongside them they may not be a farm animal but they are an SGS favourite – the meerkats return! We do love those cheeky chappies! We’ve also got lots of horses joining us on the Showground, including some beautiful heavy horses who can also be seen in our Country Arena.
It’s beer o’clock…
That’s right – the South Glos Show Beer Festival and Brewery Competition will take place for the first time this year. You can even sample this year’s entries across the region right now, find the Beer Festival area and sample a great variety of ales and vote for your favourite. Who will be voted Best Bitter, Best IPA and Best in Show? You decide!
Oh we do like to be beside the seaside…
Of course we can’t bring you the seaside so instead we are going to install a 20 tonne sand sculpture all in aid of Meningitis Now and sponsored by B & A Group.
Exhibitors exhibitors everywhere…
This year our fields are full of exhibitors ready for all our visitors. Whether you’re looking into taking up a new sport, you fancy a new handbag or perhaps want to dive into some delicious treats, we have it all! Don’t forget to get your free Show programme as you enter the Show which will have an easy to follow map in the centre for you!
